Our Story

We launched as Friends Church Anaheim as a campus of Friends Church Yorba Linda in 2019 with a weekly service in the downtown Anaheim community center. In March 2020 due to Covid-19 we had to stop meeting in person like all churches. But God had begun stirring something in our community which began in August 2020. We started meeting in our backyard and other homes in our community for our weekly worship gathering and groups. God was forming a vision for a house church movement. This was the beginning of God reforming our perspective on church and how we go about following Christ.

Through 2021 and 2022 God was impressing on us a new vision to create a web of discipling groups multiplied by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. We believe that God always offers Himself to us and any space we are in as a church is an opportunity to meet with God and then allow Him to meet others through us.

We worship together in yards, living rooms, local businesses, and parks to inspire and encourage one another.
We gather in groups around the table to eat together, study God’s word, pray, and build intimate relationships with one another.
We gather socially to have fun, find belonging, and welcome new people into our family of faith.
We serve Anaheim through strategic partnerships like Love Anaheim, a coalition of churches seeking to transform the community. We serve the homeless with Charity on Wheels to get them off the streets and thriving. We also partner with local elementary schools through youth sports to impact the next generation.

We are creating spaces for anyone to be truly known, find lasting freedom, and step into fullness of life with God.
